"Pohnpei Lories"

This is the only painting I have ever done on canvas. It was an experiment that I painted solely for my own enjoyment. It shows a scene I witnessed on the island of Pohnpei, when a thunderstorm cleared just at sunset, letting the sun kiss the tops of distant ridges as a group of Pohnpei Lories flew past. I said at the time that I would paint that scene some day. I kept the painting for years until someone offered me more for it than I could afford to turn down.
